Having just revisited Prestwood I then found your archive pages and found photos of my father. He was D.Drewett head of the school firstly in Moat Lane then when it became the junior school moving to Clare Road,we lived in the High Street from 1961 until 1971,my father remarried after my mothers death, but was the head until 1985? . I enjoyed my visit seeing how the village has change and see your old photos thank you. Good luck with the archive.

Deborah, your dad was my headmaster and I thought he was wonderful. I must have started at Moat lane in 1961 and spent my last year at the Clare Road school, happy memories, regards Peta Hadfield (nee Gurney)

Hi Peta loved to see your note, yes we moved to Prestwood in 1961, from his previous school in Bledlow Ridge. I started at Wycombe high school that year.
Are you related to the family who had a greengrocers?
Another coincidence in Canada we met a couple who live to Nicky Ledger, son of the school secretary! They lived in Chesham went to school with the Ledgers, all now in Yorkshire.
Small world.

My mum is also in the Girl Guides photo (Margaret Peedle). She would have loved to have seen thus photo, but sadly died in 2004. However, my daughter, her granddaughter, runs a Guide unit and was delighted to see it.

I have this Guide photo in one of my mother’s photo albums. She was Joan Powell and died in 2016. On the back it says ‘July 29th 1942; 1st Prestwood Girl Guide Company’. That was also my mother’s 12th birthday.
